O2 have announced that they’re making a market-changing move that will shake up the WiFi landscape with the launch of a FREE WiFi network across venues in the UK. O2 are the first UK mobile operator to do this and O2 WiFi will offer free WiFi for everyone, no matter which mobile or broadband provider you’re with.
How to access O2's free WiFi
O2 WiFi will give you speeds up to ten times faster than a normal mobile connection. So it’ll be as good for YouTube as it is for email. It'll be simple and safe to use.
Once you've signed-up, that's it. No passwords or usernames to connect. And it won't eat into your mobile's data allowance. Just quick Wi-Fi, whenever you're near one of O2's hotspots.
Where to access O2's WiFi
O2 have begun rolling out simple, fast and secure O2 WiFi hotspots in O2 Retail stores and they plan to have two times the number of hotspots currently offered by BT Openzone and The Cloud combined by 2013.
By the end of the year O2'll have set up thousands of hotspots. And by 2013, they'll have 14,000 O2 WiFi hotspots across the UK – double the number any of the competitors offer now.
You’ll be able to use O2 WiFi in shops, cafes and bars. Then train stations, airports, shopping centres, libraries, parks and stadiums.
As a leading supplier of business mobiles, this is a great example of O2 maximising growth opportunities as they continue their focus in becoming the ‘total communications integrator of choice for business’.
It’s a brilliant opportunity for business customers to connect with free WiFi in more places than ever before. And, as the number of O2 WiFi hotspots increases, it’s another great reason for customers to choose, and to stay with O2.
